The Double Faced Indian Patriarchy

In India ,a porn star can be accepted ,eligible to adopt kids and live as a respected citizen .Why not a rape victim,why not a widow ,a transgender or divorcee ??

Like every normal Indian working women ,

I am also the part of the society where fulfilling all my responsibilities from household chores to deal with daily task in my professional life where dynamics among the team member and management always comes as cherry on the cake in our daily life struggles.

Meanwhile,we get 5 min of flip and flop ,scrolling social media ,getting all the life mantras ,women empowerment ,life hacks blah …and blah .Everyone has some thing to say …Nowadays women safety has become a spiciest content for all the influence’s and the media .

Still ,Something feels weird …? yes after the Kolkata incident.

So instead of asking for justice ,may be people should start buying candles for another victim.

May be its harsh but its the ground reality …

Where some part of the society which is condemning the incident ..the part who is making contents and getting viewership.It is the same society who would not even , let the rape victim to befriend with their daughters ….not only rape victims 

If you are a victim of any tragedy ..boy or girl or transgender doesn’t matter..The incident happened ,memories gone but when the people meet or encounter with any sexually abused or raped victim.

They start imagining the incident considering the victim as the main character of their vicious imagination .

In 2018 ,A freelence you tube channel which was taking interviews to the minor rape victim and creating documentaries on their lives after incident .

It is happening very often, when I scroll ,and the ads like this pop up for funding or any private NGO for rape victims .

But Instead of asking for how our donation would help them ,what they will do with the donation ,any example of the case history where they had created and made a difference in any rape victim survivor’s life positively ,they are more focused on the past abuse stories of how 20 or more men and so on rest we all know .

why donation needs a whole elaboration of rape stories …highlighting each and every second ,Because the sellers knows what a buyer want ..they know the psychologies behind it .

At the same time not just rape victim,widow’s,divorcees ,single mothers ,transgenders .In our society they are not some one who just came out of death .In our so called society ,they are an open option …,they don’t deserve laugh ,they don’t deserve a respectful position in our society. .

Us double standard moral values says ,that a victim doesn’t deserve any thing just because some how by bad luck for so called society they failed to play with many men’s mind in a same family  and control the family under the shadow of sindoor and bindi …or couldn’t bear cheating of a men ignoring all the real responsibilities instead of making drama out of it .

I am not saying that everyone is doing the same,Some of them are pure and the people who are pure …are respectful to people doesn’t matter, its victim of rape ,abuse or any thing .

For example Bilquish banos husband supported her till the last hearing of the case .

But we need to change our perspective to see victim, not just as victim , a human passed through a worst time .

As human, we need to make those people comfortable to let them stand in the society .In India ,a porn star can be accepted ,eligible to adopt kids and live as a respected citizen .Why not a rape victim,why not a widow ,a trans or divorce.If we start changing our perspective ,one day,women would start feeling safe…if we want to make them feel safe.My point here, is safety ..obviously but what if something happened to anyone.. …whats your call then??.
